Diana is portrayed as desperately lonely, given Charles' love of Camilla Parker Bowles, played by Olivia Williams under a wig that is doing a lot of the heavy lifting in that performance. But this season nudges both of them into the background to focus on the rocky divorce of Charles, now played by Dominic West, and Diana, played by Elizabeth Debicki. And Jonathan Pryce takes over from Tobias Menzies as royal stick-in-the-mud Prince Philip. Imelda Staunton takes over from Olivia Colman in the role of Elizabeth II because heavy hangs the hair helmet that wears the crown.
